„A multi-scale, integrative modeling framework for setting conservation priorities at the catchment scale for the Freshwater Pearl Mussel Margaritifera margaritifera“ published in Sci Tot Environ (20 May 2020). An ecohydrological modeling cascade was developed on the base of hydrological, hydraulic, sand accumulation, and species distribution models in order to indentify and prioritize the sites for life-stage-specific conservation actions for the freshwater pearl mussel.

Paper „River-floodplain restoration“ published
Machado dos Santos Pinto R. et al (2020) River-floodplain restoration and hydrological effects on GHG emissions: Biogeochemical dynamics in the parafluvial zone. Sci Tot Environ 715.
The paper describes the effects of drying and re-wetting on the CO2, CH4 and N2O fluxes in the parafluvial zone of a restored floodplain channel. Enhanced biogeochemical turnover rates were identified
during the intermittent period, when N2O and CO2 emissions peaked.
