An ecohydrological modeling cascade was developed on the base of hydrological, hydraulic, sand accumulation, and species distribution models in order to indentify and prioritize the sites for life-stage-specific conservation actions for the freshwater pearl mussel.

The paper describes the effects of drying and re-wetting on the CO2, CH4 and N2O fluxes in the parafluvial zone of a restored floodplain channel. Enhanced biogeochemical turnover rates were identified
during the intermittent period, when N2O and CO2 emissions peaked.
