The paper describes the effects of drying and re-wetting on the CO2, CH4 and N2O fluxes in the parafluvial zone of a restored floodplain channel. Enhanced biogeochemical turnover rates were identified
during the intermittent period, when N2O and CO2 emissions peaked.
